China's national cardiac centres perform some of the highest procedure volumes anywhere — bypass surgery, valve repair and replacement, and catheter-based intervention performed daily at scale. This pathway is for patients in stable condition planning elective care: it starts with a remote review of your angiograms and reports by cardiologists and cardiac surgeons in China, and travel is arranged only when that review confirms a plan.
Catheter approaches — including transcatheter valve procedures — are considered alongside surgical options by the reviewing team; the choice of approach is a clinical decision made with you by the institution.

Start from home — specialist review
Your existing investigations — angiography, echocardiography, ECG and other reports — are exchanged through a separate secure channel and reviewed by the institution's cardiology and cardiac surgery team. You receive a written opinion on the options open to you and the approach they would propose.
Before you travel
Your written pathway outline names the institution proposed for you, sets out the planned procedure, pre-operative assessment, expected stay, and an itemized quote. Fitness to fly, before and after the procedure, is confirmed with your own physician — we coordinate the questions, the physicians decide.
During your stay
Pre-operative workup, the procedure, and in-hospital recovery are coordinated with interpretation throughout. Discharge criteria and the timing of your flight home are set by the treating team.
After you return
Operative reports, device details (such as valve or stent type), imaging, and your medication list are organized and translated into a handover package for your own cardiologist, so follow-up care at home continues without gaps.
Cardiac procedures carry material risks, including risks that arise from travel itself. Your written pathway outline sets out what the institution proposes; questions about risks and alternatives belong in discussion with the treating physicians and your own doctor, and we encourage both.
Who this is not for: anyone with a recent heart attack, unstable chest pain, or uncontrolled heart failure needs emergency or urgent local care — not a flight. This pathway is for stable patients planning elective procedures, with fitness to travel confirmed in advance.
Process and timeline
Inquiry
Day 0. A short text inquiry; first reply within 24–48 hours. No medical records at this stage.
Specialist review
Typically about one week once your investigations are received: a written opinion and proposed approach.
Plan & written quote
Typically within a further week: named institution, schedule, and an itemized written quote.
Procedure & recovery
A catheter intervention typically involves 5–7 days in China. Bypass or valve surgery typically involves 2–3 weeks in total, including pre-operative assessment and post-discharge observation before flying home.
From first inquiry to a confirmed plan, most cardiology pathways take three to four weeks, most of it before you travel.
